The software can be installed on any platform by just copying the application folder to the file system. No administrative rights are necessary, no "registry pollution" takes place, no additional files will be written somewhere on the harddisk.
This is a clean solution to the (Microsoft Windows specific) problem of bloating the registry and/or pollution of the system with unwanted files.
NPNMR can be removed completely without leaving a trace on the computer. Everything is transparent to the user.
Copy the npnmr.zip folder anywhere to your file system (where you have writing permissions), extract it and start the application by executing the npnmr.exe program. NPNMR will configure itself.
Go to the NPNMR folder and run the "uninstall.bat" script. This is equivalent to the following manual procedure:
Finally delete the NPNMR folder itself (manually).
Extract the .dmg file. Put the folder anywhere you have read/write permissions. If required, drag the NPNMR application to the dock.
On the Mac the same files and folders are written as on any other platform. To perform a clean uninstall, first remove the ".npnmr" folder form your home directory. Then remove the NPNMR application folder. Thats it !
Gzip the contents of the zip-archive to any folder you have read/write permissions. Start the NPNMR application by executing "npnmr" inside the NPNMR folder.
Run the "uninstall.sh" script inside the NPNMR folder or remove the ".npnmr" in your home directory manually. Then remove the NPNMR folder and you're done.
