As Apple provides its own JAVA runtime (and does not permit bundling the runtime with applications), the Mac OS X version of NPNMR does not include one. This has the advantage of the download size being smaller. This also means that NPNMR relies on the runtime installed on the target computer. Users must make sure that the latest JAVA 6 runtime is installed.
Note: It is not required to change the runtime defaults on the computer. NPNMR should work even when the JAVA 6 is not the default runtime (on Macs the JAVA 5 runtime may be defined as default).
The navigation has been adapted to common Apple hardware. It is expected, that the Mighty Mouse and Apple keyboard are used.
